You are cordially invited to join the Monthly First Saturdays Mentor Program.

Each meeting will include continental breakfast, lunch and supplies. Students can earn volunteer hours and on completion of the program they receive OGP certification. Program includes: Eight Live, interactive Saturday Sessions that teach high school teens about: the Foundations of Freedom, Educational Opportunity, Economic Opportunity, Social Entrepreneurship, Team Video, 60-Second Film Festival and Team Projects.

Using interactive games, group work, issue analysis, competition, and robust discussion, this monthly program empowers students with a solid framework in the foundations of a free society based on Constitutional principles, including stewardship and the individual responsibility that comes with freedom.

Students are asked to come to each session with lined paper and a pen or pencil. Materials for the program are provided at no charge. Occasionally there will be materials the students are asked to read and access to  computer with an internet connection at home will come in handy but is not required for group projects.

There will be four projects over the course of the school year that will require the students to conduct a minimal amount of research online or prepare parts of the project during off-class time, however, this will be announced well in advance. If there is any assignment or project that presents a hardship for the student for any reason, please communicate your needs and the trainers will work with you and your student to ensure success. Many of the games and group activities require a minimum number of students in order to be played. For this reason, consistent attendance at the monthly sessions are expected in consideration for the student's as well as their classmates' learning.
